Meet the Developer

The Last AntLion was inspired by my time spent living in Woomera, South Australia while my father was in the U.S Air Force. We were literally stationed in the middle of the desert. I was 10 years old at the time and often found myself playing in the sand for fun.
One day I stumbled across these strange looking pits in the sand...
I used my hand to dig underneath the pits and found these little critters!
I didn't know it at the time, but they were AntLions! They dig little pits in the sand to trap unsuspecting ants. When the AntLion senses something has fallen into the pit, it uses it's claws to grab the ant and pull it under, draining it's blood and discarding the corpse.
AntLion's are completely harmless to humans, so I would collect them and bring them back to our house so they could make new homes in our yard. After several hours, they would build their pits and unsuspecting ants would get trapped in them and get eaten alive! It was glorious!!! Even after all these years, I still find myself thinking about those encounters.
Not only did I get to play with AntLions, but I was also exposed to Fire Ants, Army Ants, the Praying Mantis and countless other critters from the desert. These insects are the reason many of them made it into my game.
I want everyone who plays The Last AntLion to feel challenged by a game again. I believe games have become too easy in the modern era and I'd like to bring back that sense of accomplishment you get when you beat a difficult game after many, many failed attempts.
I consider this game to be one of the best free video games to play that has ever been made by an indie developer.
